A standard setting for a rich stereo spread." that is a quote from you and when I saw it I thought you were the man to ask. "FWIW, Van Halen used one for his brown sound = right output shifted down about 5 cents, left side up about 7 cents with some pre-delay on each side. I am wanting to use the Eventide H3000 described for the Van Halen brown sound. This is my first time I have ever posted so if I am doing this wrong I apologize. A stanndard setting for a rich stereo spread. Absolutely TOP quality sound.įWIW, Van Halen used one for his brown sound = right output shifted down about 5 cents, left side up about 7 cents with some predelay on each side. That said the things CAN do are amazing, sound quality is AMAZING and texturally all the devices since the 3000 are incredible sound shaping tools. You can for sure get away with the H3000 in a band context live but for real harmonically correct shifting you might not be y it first before buying. These days REALLY good pitch shifting with corrected harmonic content is done in the computer with things like Pitch Doctor, Antares etc. The 3000 has been clearly replaced with the newer models including the Eclipse and though the pitch shifting alg is VERY good it does not sound quite like the original signal and will for sure introduce the munchkin effect on the sound as you get up to thirds, fourths and above. I have extensive experince with this box (created the Crystal Echoes patch) back in the Year One for them.
